The title of “迎风•而立” describes the spirit of LLG in facing stormy days or days of adversity. It is derived from Lim Lian Geok’s book “风雨十八年” (18 Stormy Years) after his citizenship was revoked. Since Mr Lim Lian Geok’s demise, Chinese Education in Malaysia is still facing a lot of problems. “风”also describes integrity of Mr Lim as a paragon of virtues. And he has left us a legacy of principals such as, “be neither intimidated by force, nor subdued by wealth”.

Confucius said: “At fifteen, I had my mind on learning; at thirty, I stood firm.” (The Analects: Wei Zheng/On Politics), and  the Confucian saying means that  by the time a person  reaches age thirty he would have  enough knowledge to stand firmly on his feet for and that nothing can sway them easily. “迎风•而立” is the message brought about on the occasion of this 30th anniversary of LLG Cultural Development Centre, and we will continue to uphold the spirit of Mr. Lim Lian Geok, to embrace his spirit of mutual coexistence and joint prosperity, and continue to promote mother-tongue education and also to develop a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural and harmonious society.
