Kuala Lumpur, Dec 13 – Chairman of LLG Cultural Development Centre Goh Kean Seng said the Chinese education movement is presently confronted with a grim situation – to continue fighting persistently against a declining monolingual education policy on the one hand, and to compete intensely in a rising, diversified education arena on the other.

He opined that Chinese education must not be invariable; instead it should keep up with the time and take a hit, actively carry out exploration on the development path of Chinese education movement in the new historical conditions.

He said even though the present political situation is grave and worrying, he took comfort in the fact that at least for the time being Chinese education has eluded the greatest threats wherein United Chinese School Committees’ Association (Dong Zong) remained a registered, legitimate organization. Goh Kean Seng was speaking at the luncheon with the theme “Bracing 30 years of storm” organized by the LLG Cultural Development Centre today on the occasion of Chinese Education Day 2015.

Organising chairman of the Chinese Education Day 2015 Sim Teck Hwa said Chinese education needs to pay attention to the factors of change, to meet the challenges of the time and to innovate and change continuously; these are the spirit of Chinese education.
